Authentic, holistic yoga from the Himalayas…
Yoga is elemental.
The yoga Chad teaches is an integrated set of powerful practices designed for personal growth and transformation, to help balance and align the subtle body, transcend old patterns, and realize that the magic of creation is flowing within you. Drawing on all aspects of yoga, it opens the mind and the heart, fostering fearlessness as well as vulnerability. Elemental Yoga helps you remember that you exist in time but belong to eternity.
Elemental Yoga® is a holistic, integrated, authentic, and transformative practice that incorporates all the technologies that ancient yogis developed over the millennia to help people heal and integrate mind, body, and spirit, in order to realize the Self, expand consciousness, and experience abiding bliss. The Elemental Yoga practice is a dynamic blend of hatha yoga, meditation, prānāyāma (yogic breathing), subtle kriyā practices from the Yogananda lineage, Himalayan kundalini practices, mantra, freedom movement, and transcendental wisdom. More specifically, it incorporates the five main elements of yoga and dance / celebration!
Earth.
It all begins with the earth, and our bodies. This is where the journey of self discovery must begin. The practices here include asana (physical yoga poses), mudras, bandhas, and those that work with the muladhara (root) chakra, our ground of being.
Air.
Vibration. Mantra. The heart-mind. Bhakti and jñāna yoga. Spiritual community and the study of the self. The practices here include mantra, satsang (wisdom & dharma talks), the study of ancient yoga texts, and those that work with the anahata chakra.
Water.
The seat of desire, and the transmutation of desire into dharma. The divine feminine. Receptivity. Flowing. Adaptable. Strong. The practices here include laya movements, sacred rituals, partner work, and those that work with the svadhishthana (sacral) chakra.
Space.
Akasha. The fifth element. The power of the word, and the power of silence. The transmutation of ignorance into pure awareness. Self-expression. Speaking from the heart. Receptivity. The ability to truly listen. The practices here include meditation, subtle meditative kriyas, and those that work with the vishuddha (throat) chakra.
Fire.
Agni. Purification. Passion. The transmutation of matter into energy. The burning away of impurities. Tapaha. Tejas. The practices here include pranayama (breathwork), kriya, Himalayan kundalini practices, warrior breaths, and those that work with the manipura (navel chakra).
Celebration.
We didn’t incarnate into this reality so we could just put our nose to the grindstone and evolve as quickly and diligently as possible. This is why it’s so crucial to dance and enjoy ourselves, even in the practice.
This practice is designed for personal growth and transformation, to help you transcend old patterns and realize that the magic of creation is flowing within you. It opens the mind and the heart, fostering fearlessness as well as vulnerability. Elemental Yoga helps you remember that you exist in time but belong to eternity. You are then free to express the entirety of your authentic being as you live your life.
These teachings are part of an ancient lineage that extends through the Tantra yoga of a thousand years ago to the ancient Vedic teachings. Elemental Yoga practices are ancient, but also adapted to modern life. We practice what’s most effective for increasing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, and for supporting the evolution of the individual and all of humanity.
Elemental Yoga is perfect for both experienced yoga practitioners and those who are new to yoga. If you’re just looking for an asana-based practice—power yoga or vinyasa flow— Elemental Yoga is not for you. It is a full-spectrum, holistic practice for the whole person.
